Edinburgh and Lothian Souters Society Members
We currently have 33 full members.
Gone are the heady days of the 20’s when we had 150 members.
In a changing world the Society has survived although greatly depleted in numbers
It is so important that we exiles ensure the Society continues to play an integral role in the Common Riding, by maintaining the treasured traditions of the Royal Burgh Standard Bearer wearing the ELSS Sash on the Common Riding Day and the presentation of the Medallion at the Colonial Bussin’, providing a treasured and lifelong memento for the RBSB of his year in office.
The Society has been in existence for almost 100 years, and its future depends on us having enthusiastic new members, just as it was in 1900.
The hopes for the future of the Society are that we can attract Souters who already live work or study in Edinburgh and those who plan to move to Edinburgh in the future.
